Range Rover Sport is an exceptional sports tourer that offers the broadest range of capability in its class. Fast, agile and exhilarating to drive, it is also refined and comfortable over long distances and excellent off-road. Four advanced engines are available – four very powerful reasons why Range Rover Sport is one of the world´s best performing sports tourers. The new twin turbo V8 diesel engine (TDV8) joins the existing V6 diesel engine alongside the V8 supercharged and naturally aspirated V8 petrol engines. The new TDV8 combines exhilarating yet refined performance, on-road and off-road, with a combined average fuel economy of 25.5mpg.

The all new V8 diesel engine complements the existing supercharged V8, with outstanding power to hand. It´s lightweight, economical and adapted to meet the demands of sports tourer driving. Naturally, it provides huge reserves of Torque across the rev range. Maximum Torque is an enormous 640 Nm (472 lb ft). This is maintained constantly from 2000 rpm to 2500 rpm, delivering effortless performance even at low engine speeds. Over 500 Nm of Torque is available from just 1500 rpm. Yet fuel consumption is impressively low considering the performance: combined average fuel economy is 25.5 mpg.

The powerful supercharged engine makes the Range Rover Sport Supercharged a high-performance vehicle that´s extremely rewarding to drive. Over 80% of the Torque is delivered between 1,500rpm and 3,500rpm for a broad spread of power and quick, responsive acceleration on demand. Electronically limited to a top speed of 140mph, the supercharged V8 delivers comparable performance to a V10 or V12 but is more economical and compact.

The naturally aspirated engine delivers smooth, refined power and offers exceptional performance in town or on the open road. Aluminium cylinder blocks and heads, and a widespread use of alloy make it one of the lightest V8s in the world. Like all Land Rover engines, the V8 is modified to allow the vehicle to wade in mud and climb or descend gradients of extraordinary steepness. |

The V6 diesel engine is technically advanced, offering a high level of refinement and fuel economy. Turbocharged to improve low-speed Torque and high-rev power, it´s superb for smoothness, refinement and cruising. |

The ZF six-speed intelligent shift automatic gearbox delivers power and Torque equally to all four wheels to ensure the smoothness of response that marks a fulfilling drive. It adapts to your driving style and the changing conditions and features a sports transmission mode for sportier driving at the touch of a button. Range Rover Sport Supercharged and the TDV8 include ´Positive Torque´ in sport mode that further reduces the shift delay when downshifting for a more immediate delivery of power. In all instances, CommandShift™ technology allows you to change gears manually for a greater level of driver involvement.
